Bärgüf Event 2021
Event takes place - despite(t) Corona
Corona will hopefully be controllable in the next few months, but the disease cancer will not be for a long time. Therefore, the OC of Bärgüf has decided to accept this challenge in the current crisis and let the event take place again this year, albeit under adapted conditions. The slogan for this year's event is aptly and precisely #gibnitüf. All those who decide to actively participate in the 2021 event are sending a clear signal in the firm belief that things can always go "bärgüf" again, that new hope can arise and fears can be conquered.
How Bärgüf 2021 works
Bärgüf will take place differently than the previous events, but the basic idea and the essential elements of the successful concept remain identical. The experiences that characterize and carry the event will be experienced both analogously and digitally on the impressive route from Stalden via Törbel to Moosalp. "The typical Bärgüf goosebumps feeling will thus also be there for every participant in 2021, and we will convey and share it digitally in the community," says OC President Patrick Gruber, explaining the event's goal.
In the period from June 4 to August 28, 2021, participants can plan the ascent to Moosalp themselves, alone or in small groups, according to an individual schedule. This can be done by bike or on foot. In accordance with the respective regulations of the FOPH, ambassador rides with celebrities will also be scheduled if possible and communicated at a later date. Each participant buys a Bärgüf talisman for an entry fee of CHF 50.00 and takes it with them on the tour as a visible symbol. Each individual talisman contains a Bärgüf "lucky charm", which can be deposited at the finish on Moosalp and will be distributed to affected persons by the Upper Valais Hospital Center after the event. The entry fee will be charged once, but participants are encouraged to tackle the ascent to Moosalp several times during the 3 months of the event. For this purpose, additional Bärgüf "lucky charms" can be purchased for CHF 10.00/ex. and deposited on the Moosalp - of course, these will also be distributed to affected persons in the name of the participants after the event.
Individual and shared emotions
Along the way, everyone who sets out fills their talisman with lots of love and emotions, as well as personal thoughts of loved ones or friends who are fighting cancer or have perhaps already lost this battle. What happens along the way will be recorded by the participants in stories, audio recordings, videos and photos, if possible. The event OC Bärgüf collects these contributions and also creates places of emotion on the route in advance, which can be experienced by the participants in analog and digital form. In this way, a huge Bärgüf experience will be created over the three months, which will strengthen and highly motivate the community.
All participants are also invited to hang their talisman on the wooden Bärgüf frame on Moosalp. On Saturdays during the event, Bärgüf lanterns will be lit by volunteers. In this way, a place of hope is created over time and each talisman with its individual story bears witness to warming love in the fight against cancer - true to the event motto #gibnitüf!
