ABOUT THE MOOS
During the last ice age, glaciers formed the Moosalp area into an impressive round hummock landscape. About 12,000 years ago, the enormous ice masses retreated. In the process, the bogs formed in the depressions between the round humps of gneiss.
In winter, the moors are covered in snow and absolute silence returns. Tracks in the snow give an idea of how many animals the moss is home to. In the sparse larch and Swiss stone pine forest, the light dances magically on the fresh blanket of snow, allowing you to immerse yourself in the tranquillity.
