POWER PLACES OF THE MOSS VALLEY REGION
Hellela
The lower, middle and upper Hellela are true treasures of nature. They are large, terraced clearings in the large forests around Bürchen and Zeneggen. The meagre meadows growing in the dry steppes are protected and contribute to the special biodiversity of songbirds, butterflies and grasshoppers. Here you can enjoy a particularly clear view of the striking Bietschhorn. A true place of recreation.
Breitmatt Lake
The Breitmattsee between Törbel and Moosalp is the largest of the small lakes around Moosalp. A small hiking trail leads around the very idyllically situated lake and invites you for a short walk. In the early morning steam and mist rise from the lake and transform the lake into a mystical place. If you get your strength from the element of water, this is the right place for you.
Stand
For mountain lovers the Stand is the right energy place. The stand is an open elevation on the high plateau of Moosalp. Through this elevation you have a unique panorama over the whole Upper Valais and a view of 12 four-thousand-metre peaks, many glaciers and valleys. The stand is one of the sunniest places in Switzerland with the least precipitation. Whoever gets to experience a sunrise on the stand gets a special gift from nature.
Augstbordhorn
If you gain strength from the stones, you are right on the Augstbordhorn. It is the highest point of the Moosalpregion and offers a wonderful view. The stony landscape gives it a strong character compared to the green and wooded landscape in the lower altitudes of the region.
Old Suonen
Suonen are irrigation systems that have a very long tradition in the canton of Valais. They transport water from streams or lakes along the surface to meadows and fields to prevent them from drying out. One of the most beautiful Suonen in the canton of Valais runs through Bürchen to Zeneggen. When you hike from the Löübbach along the rippling water of the Suone to Bürchen, your thoughts can unfold freely.
