Hotel-Restaurant Bürchnerhof - Pleasure, mountains, happiness

At Ronalpstrasse 86, above the Bodmen children's ski paradise in Bürchen, is the Hotel-Restaurant Bürchnerhof. Three years ago, the two young hosts Sophia and Gregor gradually took over the hotel business, which had previously been successfully run by Sophia's parents for three decades. With just as much heart and passion, the next generation now runs the traditional family business. In the restaurant there are many culinary delights from the region to discover and the cozy, family atmosphere of the hotel invites you to feel good and enjoy.

Sophia grew up in the hotel and catering industry. At the age of 15, she left her home in Bürchen and decided to train in a Zurich hotel. She then went out into the world and gained experience in the international hotel industry in Canada. After returning to Switzerland, she attended the hotel management school in Lucerne for five years. During an internship in the canton of Graubünden, Sophia met her husband Gregor at work. Gregor was working in the same business in Flims Laax at the time. He grew up in Upper Bavaria and worked in logistics for the car manufacturer Audi before his temporary involvement in the hospitality industry. In the fall of 2020, Sophia and Gregor came back to Bürchen together and decided to follow in the footsteps of Sophia's parents Regula and Hubert. Together they run the hotel with its 20 rooms, a vacation apartment and a public indoor swimming pool.

Family hotel with a lot of charm and reference to the region

As part of the takeover of the Bürchnerhof, Sophia and Gregor have taken over many proven elements of Regula and Hubert's concept, on whose support they can continue to count. With the support of a small, dedicated team consisting of eight employees, the two create an extremely familiar atmosphere for their guests with a lot of charm and cordiality. This is especially appreciated by the people from the village. Locals often meet hotel guests at the hotel bar and restaurant.

Sophia and Gregor are particularly proud that they are allowed to train a prospective hotel manageress from their own village of Bürchen. They see this as great luck, as it is by no means a matter of course to find suitable staff and the Bürchnerhof is a comparatively small business. That is why they do everything they can to give their apprentice daughter as much as possible along the way. The opportunity to encourage and support young talent is invaluable to them.

A trademark of the restaurant are the culinary delights with products from regional producers, such as the certified organic Trieguhof from Bürchen. The regular "Wine and Dine" evenings are particularly popular. During a 6-course dinner, wines from local vintners can be enjoyed. A representative of the wine house is always present and provides information about the production of the regionally produced wines.

Summer season is becoming more and more important

While in winter many guests benefit from the excellent location in close proximity to the ski area, the summer season is also becoming increasingly important for the Hotel Bürchnerhof. The beautiful mountain scenery in summer and autumn, attracts more and more guests to hike and bike in the Moosalpregion. The main season in summer is extended thanks to warmer autumn temperatures the longer the more. Should the weather not play along, you can relax in the indoor pool or sauna.

In the fall of 2023, a fasting retreat with Nadja Niggl will take place at the Bürchnerhof for the second time. During one week, the focus is on nature, relaxation and recuperation. The hotel will gear its offerings specifically to the theme week, with the public restaurant remaining closed for this period. Afterwards, the Bürchnerhof team goes on vacation. The start of the new winter season will be on December 22, 2023.
