Moosalpregion internationally awarded

7 awards for Moosalp Bergbahnen

Last winter season was very challenging for Moosalp Bergbahnen, as well as for most other mountain railroads. Despite the pandemic, skiing operations could be maintained in compliance with the various protective measures. On the occasion of the international Skiarea Test, the Moosalp Bergbahnen as well as the Hotel Restaurant Bürchnerhof were awarded and honored for their performance during the past season.

Moosalp Bergbahnen was part of the renowned, international Skiarea Test for the first time last season and won no less than 7 awards. Among others, a gold award for the new entertainment offers, the Freeridecross Moosalpregion and the BRACK.ch Skimovie, which could be put into operation last winter. Furthermore, there was an award in the category "best children's offers" for the large children's paradise in Bürchen. Selina Döringer, CEO of Moosalp Bergbahnen, is delighted: "We are delighted that our well-known children's paradise and the new offers are so well received and make our ski area even more attractive.

Ramon Zenhäusern as guest of honor
On the occasion of a special award ceremony, those responsible for the Moosalp Bergbahnen were presented with the traditional glass trophies. On this occasion, the ambassador of the Moosalp region Ramon Zenhäusern personally received the International Piste Quality Seal for the mountain railroads. "It fills us with particular pride to be able to present this important award to an Olympic champion," emphasizes Klaus Hönigsberger, Managing Director of the international Skiarea Test.

Friendliest railroad personnel
Furthermore, Moosalp Bergbahnen was honored for the friendliest railroad staff. For years, the motto "every guest gets a hanger" has been lived in Bürchen and Törbel and the friendliness of the railroad staff has been given high priority, which is now paying off, explains Selina Döringer. In particular, the technical manager, Benjamin Bayard, and the head of the piste and rescue service, Adrian Werlen, were awarded the Operations Manager Trophy and the Piste Rescue Trophy respectively for their work.

Hotel- Restaurant Bürchnerhof awarded
In addition to the Moosalp Bergbahnen, the Hotel Restaurant Bürchnerhof was also honored with 2 awards. On the one hand as the most popular mountain restaurant and on the other hand for the friendliest staff. The family business Bürchnerhof was managed last winter season for the first time in a new generation by the young couple Sophia Lehner and Gregor Rzymski. The two bring a breath of fresh air and new, modern concepts to the well-known Bürchner Hotel, which has already been awarded several times by the Sunday newspaper as one of the 25 best 3* winter hotels in Switzerland.

Ski area test rich in tradition
The International Skiareatest is an anonymous quality check with comprehensive test criteria. For 25 years, the Skiareatest team has been on the road in the European Alpine region, putting tourist destinations under the microscope. Under the direction of Klaus Hönigsberger, more than 220 experienced Skiareatest members of various professions and nationalities, including experts from the cable car industry, executive officials, journalists and professionally competent amateur skiers as well as families with children, anonymously collect impressions in participating ski resorts in the European Alpine region.
