SNOWSHOEING

Just you and the snowy winter landscape. When snowshoeing you can really relax. The snowshoes take you comfortably over the soft ground. In the Moosalpregion there are several marked snowshoe trails at your disposal. You only have to follow the pink markings. They will show you the way. So what are you waiting for? Put on your snowshoes and off you go.

We recommend you the following snowshoe highlights:

Zenhäusern Sport Trail

The Zenhäusern Sport Trail leads you through the loneliest forests of Bürchen towards Hellela in Zeneggen. A wonderful round tour for snowshoe hikers.

Route:

The starting point is, as the name suggests, the Zenhäusern sports store at the Ronalp post bus stop. From there you walk along the road under the sports store flatly in the direction of Zentriegu Hof. Passing the farm you follow the road and soon you can put on your snowshoes. Now it really starts. Before the crossing to the Eichhörnchenweg you leave the road and turn left. The path now goes downhill. Keep to the right until you reach a narrow path that leads you into the forest. Now the snowshoe pleasure begins. The narrow path leads you all through the forest under the lower Hellela through to the Eggwald. Shortly before Zeneggen you turn right again and then right again, so that you now walk back towards the starting point. The path now leads you to the middle Hellela - a big clearing with a small settlement. Past the settlement the trail leads you back into the forest. Now you are on the squirrel trail. This is a few hundred meters long and brings you back to the point where you left the road down to the left at the beginning. Follow the road back the same way via Zentriegu Hof to Bürchen.

Paradiesli Trail

The Paradiesli Trail opens up a wonderful view of the Bietschhorn. And the best thing about it - it's all downhill. You can get up comfortably with the chairlift.

Route:

Start at the chairlift in Bürchen. This takes you relaxed up to the Chalte Bodu. Once you reach the top, it's time to put on your snowshoes and start walking. At the top station of the chairlift you walk to the left until you reach the wet Pletscha. There you meet the alpine road, which also serves as a toboggan run in winter. Follow the road downhill for a few hundred meters until you leave it again to the left. Now you walk all the way down through the forest in the direction of Bürchen. Above the hamlet Gärlich you come to a forest road. Follow it to the right until you reach the Egga again in Bürchen. Not enough yet? Then you can immediately get back on the Alpuschnaager at Egga, which will take you back to Bürchneralp or Moosalp.

This trail can also be run in the opposite direction.

Panorama Trail

If you haven't done it yet, you're missing out. The Panorama Trail makes every snowshoe heart beat faster. If you appreciate lonely forests, snow-covered lakes and incredible peace and quiet, this is the place for you.

Route:

The start is at the Panorama restaurant, which you can reach most comfortably with the Alpuschnaager, the cab of the Moosalpregion. After you have recovered your strength, leave the Panorama and walk 50 meters to the next bend in the road. In the bend you leave the road and turn onto the snowshoe trail. This leads you through a larch forest, slightly ascending to the snow-covered Boniger lake. Passing the Boniger lake, you go uphill for the last time to the stand. Now you have reached the high point. From the vantage point Stand you have an incredible panoramic view of the Upper Valais and twelve four-thousand-meter peaks. After a break you leave Stand again in southern direction (towards Moosalp, Chalte Brunne). But you don't walk all the way to Moosalp. About halfway you turn right again. The path now leads you into the forest again and back to the Panorama restaurant. Now you have earned a raclette.

Zeneggen - Stand

This trail is for ambitious snowshoe hikers who are up for a few meters of altitude. Scenically definitely a highlight. You will be rewarded afterwards with the viewpoint Stand.

Route:

Start at the grocery store "Magusii" in Zeneggen. There you buy the last provisions before you start. Coming out of the store, you start to the left and then to the left again. The path now leads you steeply up to the Biel chapel. After the Biel Chapel you go slightly downhill before you turn left. The path now goes relatively steeply up to Dijepia. This is a large clearing with a few cottages. At the upper end of the clearing you enter the forest again. Follow the path towards Eischmatte. This is another clearing. At the upper end you leave the clearing to the left side. The beautiful path leads you slightly uphill to Breitmatte. This is the third of the large clearings on this tour. From the beautiful Breitmatte you go up to the right to the Breitmatte lake of the same name. A mystical place, which gives you the necessary energy for the final ascent to the stand. You pass the Breitmattsee on the right side. The path now climbs again and brings you in a left curve to the Boniger lake. You bypass the Boniger lake on the right side and climb up to the right to the viewpoint Stand. You have reached your destination. Enjoy the view and recover from the tour. You can be proud of yourself. The quickest way to get back to civilization is via Moosalp (approx. 30min).
