On this elevation you have a unique 360-degree panorama over the entire Upper Valais and views of 12 four-thousand-meter peaks, many glaciers and valleys. The stand is one of the sunniest places in the whole Switzerland with the least precipitation.
You can reach the stand on foot in about 30 minutes from Moosalp. Follow the signs and marvel at the unique nature on the way to the stand. You can return to Moosalp on the same way or you can do a short loop which leads you back to Moosalp via Lake Boniger and Lake Breitmatt.

Watching the cows go to the barn

The Eringer cows - an expression of strength and pride - they belong to the Moosalp like raclette to the Valais. More than 100 cows spend the summer on the Moosalp, most of them Eringer cows. Eringer are a mountain breed that has always been bred in the Valais mountains. For Valaisans, owning Eringer cows is an honor. The tradition is carried on in the family from generation to generation. Eringer cows fight each other to determine the ranking within the herd. This is the nature of these animals. As soon as they are away from the barn, they feel the natural urge to fight. A special highlight is the daily stable walk at Moosalp. At 5:00 p.m. all cows come from the pasture to the stable at the same time. Here you have the opportunity to marvel at these attractive animals from up close. If you are lucky, you can even marvel at one or two fights for position in the herd.
